Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is an initiative by the Government of India to provide affordable houses to all those who have no residential property. What Does the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Scheme Offer?
Under this scheme, the beneficiary gets an interest linked subsidy on the total loan amount that has been availed for buying the house. Public and private banks as well as many housing finance corporations have been helping beneficiaries avail credit-linked subsidy under PMAY.
Under this scheme, applicants of the LIG and EWS categories can get a subsidy of 6.5 percent p. a. And, those belonging to the MIG l and MIG ll categories can get an interest subsidy of 4% and 8% p.a. respectively.
